About Us

The NWSC Ski Club is a user group at the National Water Sports Centre (NWSC) situated at Riverend Road, Bangholme, Melway 97 K1. It started in 1992 and is a non-profit organisation run by members for the benefit of the members. There are approximately 150 family and single memberships including a limit of 60 boat memberships.

The Club owns a Malibu Response LXi boat with Zero Off cruise control, wedge, high pole and bimini and is available for members to use. Members who want to drive the Club boat must have a current boat operator licence and pass a short test that includes basic boat driving competency, maneuvering the boat on and off the trailer, waterway rules and general procedures. An approved member can use the Club boat whenever they like and it is shared if other members want to use it.

Skiers, wakeboarders, footers and anyone else who needs a boat to tow them through the water are welcome, and there is a slalom course on site.

A single pull (10mins) or six passes through the slalom course behind the Club boat costs $10, payable in cash.

Members may use their own boat which costs an extra $150 per year, however there is an approximate 4-5 year waiting list depending on how many existing boat members do not renew each year. To be placed on the waiting list, a member must pay their first year's boat membership fee in advance, which will place them in order of payment. Once this fee is paid, until after the first year the member receives a boat membership, they only need pay the full family/single membership fee each year, then for the second year and onwards of the boat membership they would need to pay both the family/single and boat membership fees.

Members are welcome to bring non-members either to ski or as a guest. If the visitor skis, this costs $10 per person per visit for the Visitor Fee and the $10 per ski-ride, payable in cash. The NWSC is shared with several other users groups (rowers, jet-skis, drag boats, etc). Members may use the waterway at any time within the water usage timetable NWSC Water Usage Timetable and outside of booked events NWSC Events.

The Club offers other facilities such as: a club house with barbeque, fully equipped kitchen, fridge and other appliances; two shade houses with tables and chairs and decking to the pontoons; a slide, sandy beach and sandpit for the kids.

The Club organises several events each year including a Christmas party and a monthly get-togther BBQ, and holds regular committee meetings and an annual general meeting.
